Originally from the UK I am now a Canadian Citizen living in Vancouver BC. I'm an Arborist (Tree Guy) by trade and have always loved the outdoors. I did a lot of independent travel in my late teens and early twenties, bumming around the world and generally having a good time. By my mid twenties I had made it back to the UK and university where I studied Forestry and once again had a really good time. Since I graduated I have been fairly career focused, working 110% most of the time. I've still had a good time but in a lot of ways work has come first. Then I hit my mid 40's and my thoughts started returning to the purpose of this journey we call life and how I wanted to live what I have left of it (hopefully still quite a lot!). Some people would call this a mid-life crisis but it has not come with feelings of panic or regret. Its more a desire to keep exploring myself and the planet, to keep learning and growing. If that is a mid life crisis then so be it! But instead of buying a Porsche and dying my hair, I quit my job, bought a touring bike and started doing some travelling. This website and the postings within are my way of sharing my experiences and stories with you.
